EVA Shine Processing instructions

This are recommended cycles with temperature, vacuum and glass thickness information. All cycles are only recommended and must be tested on every kiln to achieve best results.

1. Glass compositions must be sealed on the edges by polyesther tape 50 microns.

2. Vacuum has to be hold between -0.9 and -0.95 bar depending on the glass and number of layers.

3. For quicker cooling, the kiln can be opened after second hold, but kiln producer must be consulted.

4. In case of use more EVA layers (2x 0.4 or 0.38 instead of 1x0.8 or 0.76) pre-vacuuming to be increased by at least 5 min.

5. Glass could be taken from the kiln when cooling reaches 60°C , but we recommend 40 °C for workers safety.

EvaShine-H

Special recommendations

For every additional EVA layer of 0.4 mm second hold temperature (step 5) must be increased by 2 to 5 min.

Thermally toughened glass is supposed to have pre-vaccuuming by at least 5 min. longer.

Vacuum is recommended to be switched off 10 min. after beginning of second hold (step5).

EvaShine Shade 38

Special recommendations

For every additional EVA layer of 0.38 mm second hold temperature (step 5) must be increased by 2 to 5 min.

Thermally toughened glass is supposed to have pre-vaccuuming by at least 5 min. longer.

Vacuum should be switched off after first hold (step3).

EvaShine Snow White 38

Special recommendations

For every additional EVA layer of 0.38 mm second hold temperature (step 5) must be increased by 2 to 5 min.

Thermally toughened glass is supposed to have pre-vaccuuming by at least 5 min. longer.

Vacuum could be switched off after second hold (step5) before cooling to start.

Tip: Vacuum could be switched off after first hold (step3), but NOT in case of toughened glass and inserts.

EVA Smart 80

Special recommendations

Special care to be taken to seal well electrode wires.

APPLICATION: PDLC Lamination

EVA Instructions for Use

1. Application

EvaShine is interlayer adhesive film for glass lamination for architecture and decoration. It could be used with different kind of inserts and PET, resulting in creative special designs with high decorative value. In any case – with or out inserts – glass processor needs to find out optimal laminating conditions case by case using his own equipment. According EN 14449 it is necessary to test glass compositions by notified laboratory for durability and strength. Compatibility with inserts must be checked in advance with care and responsibility to final product.

2. Expiration date

Every roll received, could be used within 9 months after production date marked on the plastic bag of the roll. Keep the label and avoid using the material after expiration date cause performances decrease with the time which could lead to lack of adhesion.

3. Storage conditions

EvaShine must be stored inside the building in its original packing at temperatures between 0 and 30°C and humidity under 50%. Storage place must be not exposed to direct sun light, heat, dust, chemical contaminations (also in the air). EvaShine must be kept away from heating units, hot tools etc. Opened rolls must be resealed if not in use. In case the rolls are stored on the feeder stand in the workshop, they must be covered by polyethylene film to protect from dust until using.

Precautions:

- Keep EvaShine far from fire. It can burn, when exposed to direct fire. Do not burn the waste!

- Do not allow EvaShine to be contaminated with oils. Oily material does not reach adhesion.

- Do not allow EvaShine to be contaminated with any solvents. Adhesive properties could be lost.

- Do not allow EvaShine to be contaminated with any solvents. Adhesive properties could be lost.

4. Handling

Do not press, stick or bend the rolls! Use proper jigs,/stoppers/lifters while storing or handling EvaShine in order to avoid personal injury or damage. Handle gently with care.

We recommend to remove and do not use abt. 1 m from the beginning and end of the roll, where material has been in long contact with other material lately.

5. Preparing glass compositions

Glass must be clean and dry. Thorough cleaning of the glass is essential requirement for good adhesion. Demineralized water with conductivity 3-5 µS must be used. Washing equipment must be kept clean from grease and dust.

Do not touch EvaShine with naked hands or dirty fabric gloves. Use clean sharp knife to cut excessive film around edges, keeping fingers from injury. Seal the edges by high temperature tape to avoid slipping and displacement. Proper type of tape means to allow air evacuation effectively.

Do not edge or drill ready laminated glass within 24 hours after taking out from the kiln.

6. Environment protection

Dispose of EvaShine waste and unused lengths in conformity with the laws and regulations concerning industrial waste in your country.
